‘A few small things’ helped Liverpool to second-half victory over Watford

Liverpool had been in the ascendancy when the first goal was scored, but a couple of key errors from substitute Fabio Borini and a poor defensive display by Watford denied them a late comeback.
The visitors made an excellent start to the second half, but the Reds were unable to keep the hosts at bay.
The goal came on the hour mark, when James Milner converted a corner from a corner kick by Adam Lallana, before Borini made it 2-0 before the break.
A moment of magic came later, when the Brazilian’s shot was deflected by keeper Manuel Lanzini and looped into the far corner by Luis Suarez.
Liverpool continued to push forward and finished the half on top.
The win lifted Liverpool to 10th place in the Premier League, while the Hornets, who are now without a win in their last 12 league games, are seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United.
Watford head into the game with 10 points from nine games.
The Hornets are unbeaten in 10 games, with the exception of a 2-1 win at Leicester on the opening day of the season.
