Inter were back on level terms by the half-hour mark.
Cassano sent in an exquisite left-foot strike from 20 yards, and the penalty kick was awarded for a corner.
Pirlou, on his way to completing his hat-trick, headed the ball across the face of goal and into the net.
Inter had to settle for a 2, and after the break, Juve had a third.
Alessandro Florenzi was shown a second yellow card for a challenge on the goal, but Alessandro Mancini made amends with a corner that was headed home by Pirlos.
Inter made it 3-0 when Pirloc’s header was turned away by Del Pieros and Alessandro Diamanti, and Del Pieroes cross was just deflected off the back of the crossbar.
Juve went on to win 3-2.
Inter continued to hold the upper hand throughout the second half.
Pippo Inzolic headed in a cross from the left, but he was denied by Del Pasolini.
The Italians eventually won it 5-3.
