How to Burnaby, BC to Build the World’s First Ceramic Tile Decal Decal Project
Posted On July 13, 2021
Burnaby (BC) is the latest Canadian city to get the nod from the World Ceramic Tin Company to build its first ceramic tile decal.
The new project will be located in Burnaby Park, near the city’s downtown, and is part of the Burnaby Greenway, a network of greenways that connects downtown and the surrounding communities.
The project will take six months to complete.
The city will be able to make more than a million ceramic tile tiles from the finished decals.
The ceramic tile is made from ceramic, which is a ceramic-rich metal that’s resistant to water, salt and heat.
This material is usually used for window glass, but the company will also be able use it to create ceramic tile walls.
The tile will be made in a two-part process.
First, the ceramic tiles are placed in a ceramic furnace.
The first part of this process is to heat the ceramic tile to a high temperature, and then melt it to a low temperature.
The molten ceramic tiles then have a very fine layer of ceramic dust.
Then, the clay that is left over after the ceramic is completely melted is then added to the furnace.
This process will take roughly seven hours.
After that, the tiles are mixed and placed in kilns for a total of four hours.
The kiln will then be turned on for the final six hours.
In the last five hours of the kiln, the kilns are heated to between 180 and 220 degrees Celsius.
The final step, in which the ceramic heat is transferred to a copper pipe that runs through the ceramic, creates a heat transfer system that will heat the tile to at least 500 degrees Celsius (1,050 degrees Fahrenheit).
The process will be done in a single day.
The company is planning to have the tiles in place in 2019.
“This is a really exciting and exciting opportunity,” says Mark McEwen, general manager of the company.
“I think it’s going to be a huge success.”
McEwan adds that the ceramic material is a very durable ceramic material that will last for a very long time.
The building project is the culmination of several years of work by Burnaby’s Burnaby residents.
Burnaby has long been known for its unique mix of cultures and heritage.
In 2012, the city became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This includes the construction of the Great Wall of China in the 1990s.
In 2017, it was named the most livable city in Canada by the National Post and the United States National Geographic Society.
For many Burnabyites, the building project will help to create a more cohesive community.
“The city has been really positive and supportive of our idea,” says Sarah McEgan, a Burnaby resident.
“It’s going into Burnaby to help the city and to do something to contribute to the community.
I think it will be a positive thing.”
